Universiti Malaya (UM) researcher Professor Dr. Sazaly Abu Bakar has been awarded a major research grant worth RM14,943,415.00 from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) to advance national efforts in dengue prevention.
The grant will support his project titled “Utilization of Generally Regarded as Safe (GRAS) Vaccine Delivery Platform for the Development of Vaccines Against Dengue (GRAVAP)”, which focuses on developing innovative and safe vaccine delivery technologies to combat dengue, a persistent public health challenge in Malaysia and globally.
The award underscores Professor Dr. Sazaly’s leadership in infectious disease research and reflects UM’s continued commitment to driving impactful scientific discoveries that align with national priorities and contribute to global health advancement.
