The Research Event Management (REEM) section promotes Universiti Malaya’s research innovations at national and international platforms. REEM coordinates participation in high-impact exhibitions, competitions and award programmes acting as a bridge between academic research and global recognition. By showcasing leading projects and researcher achievements, REEM strengthens UM’s research visibility, industry engagement and societal impact.
The Identity: RIO Defined
The Research Impact & Innovation Outreach Section (RIO) is a section under OVIS that identifies high-impact research and translates it into creative knowledge outputs including infographics, short videos, podcasts, media features, AR/VR experiences, and scientific comics.
The Purpose: Our Core
- Identify High-Impact Research across faculties, research centres, and PTj, focusing on projects with strong academic, social, and economic value.
- Develop Creative Research Outputs that translate complex findings into accessible public-facing formats.
- Disseminate Outputs through UM’s official channels (social media, website, bulletins) and external stakeholders.
- Support Researcher Profiling by developing structured Researcher Profile Packages for branding and promotion

The UMR Bulletin serves as the official digital publication for showcasing the research, innovation, and academic achievements of Universiti Malaya (UM).
Its primary purpose is to highlight the university’s scholarly output and share it with a broader audience, including the academic community, industry partners, and the general public.

UMResearchTV
The Research Journal Management (ReJMa) functions as the central unit for supporting and managing UM’s academic journals through training, advisory services, and technical support. It oversees DOI registration, journal databases, and the Open Journal Systems (OJS) to ensure efficient editorial workflows. ReJMa also provides strategic guidance to help journals meet national and international indexing standards, enhancing the quality, visibility, and global recognition of UM publications.
