UM Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Programme
The University of Malaya (UM), ranked 58th in the world and 12th in Asia (QS World University Rankings), invites exceptional and visionary researchers to join our vibrant research community through the UM Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Programme.
This programme aims to attract outstanding researchers to collaborate with UM’s world-class academics, contribute to high-impact research, and advance knowledge across diverse disciplines.
Guidelines
Eligibility Criteria for Applicant
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a PhD
- Possess a minimum of four (4) Q1 publications as First Author
- For science & technology (S&T): minimum 4 Q1 WoS-indexed publications.
- For social science, art & humanities (SSAH): minimum 4 Scopus/ISI-indexed publications.
- Demonstrate strong research potential aligned with UM’s research priorities.
- Commit to full-time research at the University of Malaya.
Eligibility Criteria for Supervisor
The Supervisor Requirements for Postdoctoral Research Fellowship are as follows:
(a) Science & Technology (S&T):
• Possess a minimum H-index of 20 or above; or
• Have at least six (6) Q1 WoS publications within the past three (3) years.
(b) Social Sciences & Humanities (SSAH):
• Possess a minimum H-index of 15 or above; or
• Have at least six (6) Scopus-indexed publications within the past three (3) years.
KPI of PDRF Award
Publications as the First Author as follows:
- Science & Technology (S&T): 5 Q1/Q2 WoS (Min: 3Q1 / 2Q2)
- Social Science, Art & Humanities (SSAH): 5 Scopus/WoS
