Putrajaya, 2025 — Universiti Malaya (UM) proudly celebrates the outstanding achievements of researchers who have successfully secured funding under two of the nation’s most prestigious research schemes: the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) and the Prototype Development Research Grant Scheme (PRGS).

These grants, administered by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), are instrumental in strengthening Malaysia’s research ecosystem. By supporting both foundational studies and prototype development, FRGS and PRGS contribute to expanding the national knowledge base, driving innovation, and fostering a vibrant research culture aligned with the country’s strategic aspirations.

The official grant ceremony took place on the third day of the Putrajaya Festival of Ideas (PFOI) 2025, held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC). The ceremony was officiated by the Director General of Higher Education, Prof. Datuk Dr. Azlinda Azman, who presented the awards to the successful recipients.

UM extends its heartfelt congratulations to all the researchers involved for their dedication, excellence, and contributions to advancing Malaysia’s research frontiers
