To exhibit and promote UM research and innovation that have an impact on the community, UMRC will be organizing a special event as a platform to stimulate and foster quadruple helix interactions between the academia, industry, government, and civil society.
The theme of World Autism Acceptance 2022 focuses on ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and the promotion of lifelong learning opportunities as the foundation for improving quality of life and reducing inequities [Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4)]. In keeping with this, the special program will showcase and increase the visibility of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) research by UM researchers, raise funds for ASD research, as well as increase public awareness and appreciation of creative artwork by autistic artists.
The Objectives are:
Educate and increase public awareness about ASD
Generate funds for autistic children, young people, and autism research
Provide a platform for autistic children and young people to showcase their artistic talent
Highlight the role of scientific research in understanding ASD, for more effective management, as well as innovations and technology to better assist people with ASD.
